It's funny, but you'd think that after a year of such sustained hard graft, I'd be relieved that the summer is finally here and I can put my feet up, but no such luck! Truth be told, I'm raring for the autumn, now that I know what's ahead.

And try as I might, I can't shake the feeling that I've got a long, empty summer ahead, when to be honest, the reverse is true! Here's my to-do list:

- Write my dissertation
- Carry on working for Germanwings
- Do some exercise
- Sort out my dodgy knee
- Improve my Dutch (and keep my other languages going)
- Read up about Europe's institutions
- Buy a new suit
- Take a holiday
- Find a flat in Brussels and organise the move

So as you can see, it's not like I'm going to be at a loose end!

What's everyone else doing?

But Eurodan, we all know you're one of those strange creatures that doesn't like the summer ;-)

Out here in Spain, I'm busy doing swimming pool repairs and decorating in a desperate attempt to lick the place into a state fit to receive visitors.

But obviously for you, Eurodan, that means in the autumn/winter! Although it's cool today (mid 20s) it has been up above the mid 30s recently. Not Eurodan weather at all ;-)

Well Daniel - just to let you know - I don't have any problems at all with having nothing to do in the summer....not at all....still in lovely Sweden, relaxing, slowly working on the perfect tan....

It was fab having you over here on the Källö-Knippla island for Midsummers, everyone keep saying that this year was better than ever! Only one week to go and then back to London again, see you soon, H
