Well, this evening we have a guest with us here at the blog - my best mate from Bradford, Leah is staying with me for a while, having just moved to Brussels to seek her linguistic fortune.
She certainly seems to have a lucky touch. Barely an hour after she had arrived, I opened my email and there was a message from those lovely people over at the German low-cost airline for whom I've been working for the last few months, telling me that they've decided to thank me for my work with two free tickets to anywhere on their route network including a hotel voucher!
Needless to say, we went straight to their website and whittled down the destinations to a shortlist, which included Lisbon, Budapest and Barcelona. And after much deliberation, Barcelona was found to have the best flight times for a whistlestop tour, and neither of us had been there. And yes, we're feeling rather pleased with ourselves, thank you.
And Leah passes on her love to everyone - she's feeling too shy to comment directly.
Posted by Eurodan at October 25, 2003 10:32 PMOooh! When are you coming to Spain?
Posted by: Shyboy at October 25, 2003 11:15 PM:-( I'll be in England unfortunately. But have a great time.
Posted by: Shyboy at October 26, 2003 12:48 PMSo you 'll be missing the first "Koningsdag" (15 November) since you live in Belgium. ;-)
Posted by: Axel at October 27, 2003 3:44 PMLooks like you picked exactly the wrong time to go away ;-)
Posted by: Shyboy at October 27, 2003 7:27 PMBasically, you will miss nothing. Just that some roads are closed. In order to avoid all the traffic problems, the King and Queen stay at home. They do not celebrate, but their family (all the princes and princesses).
So have a nice time in Barcelona which is indeed an excellent choice. It is a nice city, but I don't know how it's in autumn.
