Two fathers
My Polish friend and colleague MichaĆ passed this video on to me. How unsurprising that something as progressive as this should come from the Netherlands.

Back again
Erm... (taps microphone) hello...? Is anybody still out there?
After a break of a year and a half or so, and too many spam attacks to mention, I'm back... for now, at least.
Is anybody still there? I've given this blog a thorough spring-clean, installing new software (the latest version of Movable Type if that means anything to you) and hopefully making it spam-proof. The comments function is working again (gasp!). And I'm currently too tired from all the work to say anything particularly sensible.
So let me welcome you back with a picture. This is from a few weeks ago, when I was assigned as the interpreter at the christening of the building which houses the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions.
The building was to be named the "Jacques Delors Building", as it was he who saw to it that the two illustrious institutions housed therein saw the light of day.
However, owing to a bit of a technical mix-up, there only seemed to be one of the two microphones working up on the podium. (It was meant to be one for me, one for Mr Delors).
Naturally, I volunteered to hold the microphone for Mr Delors, and not vice-versa, but it didn't really turn out that way. And hence the picture!

test
This is just a test of my new installation of Movable Type.
